January 29th Yakima River

Mild temperatures are in the forecast for the upcoming week setting the stage for the possibly of great winter fishing. The Yakima has been low and

clear, ideal for floating or wade fishing. This is the time of year where big fish can be found concentrated in the right water. Target your fishing to the slow, deep portion of a run. We’ve done several guided fly fishing trips this week and have had most success using size 10 Pat’s Rubber Legs, San Juan worms, and small beadheads such as Pheasant Tails or Brassies.

Our advise is to fish now with the good conditions and very little fishing pressure on the river. Also, take advantage of our winter rates for guide trips at $325 for the boat through February 28.
