“The highest-performing, lightest, most-packable waders on the market, featuring our seamless booty technology. This is the ultimate back country or travel wader.” – Patagonia
The new Middle Fork Packable waders from Patagonia are designed to solve an issue many fishermen have, and that’s trying to save space and weight when traveling or hiking. Whether backpacking, keeping a pair stuffed in your car, or even to save space when hopping on a plane, these waders can do just about anything.
Don’t be fooled, just because they’re lightweight and packable doesn’t mean that they’re going to fall apart after one season. These waders were designed to survive being beat up on pack in trips where most of the time, bush whacking is the only way to get to the river. Patagonia has designed these waders with single seam technology leaving very few spots for leaks to form, keeping you dry when it matters. They also come with everything else the other Patagonia waders come with, including adjustable suspenders, a lighter, thinner wading belt, and even an inside waterproof phone pocket.
I’ve found it’s best to think of these waders as that light rain jacket that you take everywhere you go. It’s great for keeping you dry when you really need it, but not the best for your winter steelhead excursion on the Olympic Peninsula.
