May 2nd, 2018 Yakima River Fishing Report

Salmon Flies are starting to pop off! We don’t usually see the fish keying in on the dries a whole lot, but the nymphs will be active and crawling around, so throwing some big (size 4 and 6) orange/brown stonefly nymphs can be very productive. We’re also starting to notice fish getting a bit more active with streamers on the upper river, so don’t be afraid to throw some sculpins or sparkle minnows up in to structure or high banks.
