May 7th, 2018 Yakima River Fishing Report

The river isn’t looking too great, but there’s still some visibility above the Teanaway and around/above Cle Elum. There’s been a lot of caddis around but not much dry fly action with the higher water. If you’re going to fish, say up high in the system and stick to nymphing unless you see fish rising. Throwing a San Juan Worm is always a go-to with the higher water, along a with a pat’s stone.

It’s hard to guess what the water’s going to be at in the future, but with the weather staying warm and all the lakes pretty full we’re not expecting it to drop right away. If it does stay at a consistent level, then we should see the fishing pick up even with the high water. Feel free to give us a call if you need updates!
