May 12th, 2018 Yakima River Fishing Report

For those who love to fish streamers, get out there and fish! Yes, the river is pretty blown, but now that its stayed at a constant level fish have started to get used to it. If you can put a fly in front of them that they can see (aka big streamers), then they're gonna crush it.

Swinging with a sink tip is typically the best way to fish when it's high like this. It allows you to cover every inch of water that you need in order to place it right in front of the fish. Check out this blog post (click here) on how we like to fish sculpins.

Just remember that solid colors are going to show up best in this high water. Either a solid black, or even a solid white fly will be your best bet, but olive will still do the trick.
