July 31st, 2018 – Yakima River Fishing Report

It looks like its going to cool off a bit for the next week with even a bit of rain in the forecast for next Monday, and this could really help out the fishing! This cooler weather should help to keep fish active throughout the day and it gets rid of our mid-day slow patch.  We’re still just throwing big dries like hoppers and gypsy kings, and swinging flashy streamers like a Mr. Creepo, Lil Kim, or Sparkle Minnow.

If you feel like nymphing then throw a pat’s stone with a small beadhead dropper. Nymphing is really your best bet for when things slow down in the middle of the day and is a great way to find some bigger fish that are sitting deep.
