Methow River
A summer trout fishery and fall steelhead river, the Methow flows through the
picturesque North Central Cascades and Methow Valley. Summer trout fishing is about big dry flies, sloppy fat cutthroats and airborne rainbows. Middle June, just after the run-off, until it gets too warm in late summer is prime time for trout on the Methow. The steelhead season depends on returns with anglers anticipating late September as the soonest opening. The Methow is a small river ideal for swinging a sprey rod, nymphing, and both wading an floating in a raft.
