February 27 Yakima River

The weather has been the same the last few days cloudy highs in the low 30s. The mornings have started out slow. Fishing with a stone and a worm has been producing fish through out the day. This time of year can be more productive by nymphing small midge patterns. Fishing small flies can be more technical but yield more fish to hand on a colder spring days.

Look to nymph midge patterns in 2 to 4 feet of walking speed water. Setting your depth around 3ft and running a size 1 split shot with an size 18 or smaller Brassie.
